South Arts’ Literary Arts Touring grants are available to bring Southern writers – fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry – to your community for readings and educational programs such as workshops.

Eligible projects can include a single engagement by a Southern writer or multiple Southern writers involved in an event (for example, writers series or festivals) and the maximum request is 50% of the writers’ fees (up to a total grant of $2,500). Projects must take place between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

NEW THIS YEAR! The engagement of a Southern writer is a requirement.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

New applicants are encouraged to contact Nikki Estes at 404.874.7244 x16 to discuss eligibility prior to submitting an application.

Only nonprofit and governmental presenting organizations in South Arts nine-state region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) are eligible to apply.
