Special Opportunity Grants Available for Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit

From Hal Partlow, Associate Director of Grants –

The TN Arts Commission is currently offering Special Opportunity Grants to attend the South + Appalachia Regional Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit, April 16 – 18, 2019 in Columbia, SC. The Summit is presented by The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking in partnership with South Arts and ArtPlace America and is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.

A limited number of scholarships up to $500.00 are offered to individuals and nonprofit organizations within Tennessee to offset registration fees and lodging costs associated with conference attendance. Arts and cultural leaders, public officials, community leaders, organizational decision makers, municipal and economic planners, and others from Tennessee who are likely partners in Creative Placemaking efforts are encouraged to apply. This convening will present ideas, networking opportunities, and successful examples of highlighting and leveraging the creative assets especially in rural communities and small towns to attract and retain residents, creatives and businesses and bring visitors to experience the unique nature of your hometown.

Information about the conference and online registration can be found at https://www.cpcommunities.org/register.

Tennessee organizations that wish to send representatives to the conference or interested individuals living in Tennessee should read the guidelines. Then contact me at (615) 741-2093 or by email, hal.partlow@tn.gov to verify that funds are still available.
